CrossFit Deluge was founded in 2016. Owners Jake and Christine have been doing Crossfit for over a decade and we take fitness very seriously and at the same time having a lot of fun in doing so. Our team of coaches train everyone from soccer moms, to obstacle course racers, to military, first responders and kids. Our main focus is on function and human performance. We view intensity and intelligent programming as the key components of our fitness program. Our training is based on the premise of CrossFit of being constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.

For us, feeding the body the proper balance of food is critical for performance. We help our members pursue elite fitness and develop to their maximal potential. We strive to challenge our members to improve their quality of life and enhance their fitness levels through healthy choices and pursuit of wellness.

I started Crossfit in 2010. My wife started 6 months before me and I saw what amazing results it was having on her, so I decided to give it a shot. I was humbled on how out of shape I was the first day. Thats when I made the decision to go all in. In 2016 I had the oppertunity to start my own box, It was a tough decision, but I defintely made the right choice. I have such a passion to make others better themselves in both fitness and in life. In my downtime I enjoy time with my family and friends.

I have been doing CrossFit for 11 years now.  When I first started CF, I had no idea what is was about. I just needed to get lose some weight and learn better eating habits. The CrossFit community is the reason why I became an owner and coach back in June 2016.

About a year later, I quit my job of 22 years and became a NASM CPT and earned additional specializations, as I knew I had a passion for helping others get through injuries and meet their goals.

I coach the Kids CrossFit classes, Low Impact and also provide personal training sessions.  The best part of being an owner is meeting some great people I consider my second ‘family”.

I started CrossFit in 2018 looking for a new challenge. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first, but quickly fell in love with the variety, intensity, and team vibe of the community here.

 

My background includes a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Pacific Lutheran University, where I also lettered in football. I then worked as a personal trainer in Redmond, WA, with the intent of going into physical therapy. I ended up changing my mind and became a firefighter instead.

 

Away from the gym, most of my time is spent tackling endless house projects with my amazing wife, chasing our crazy one-year-old daughter, and trying to not be horrible at golf.

 

I'm thrilled for the opportunity to help others grow in the sport of CrossFit. It has strengthened me physically and mentally, made me a better firefighter, and has introduced me to some amazing people!

I started CrossFit in 2017 after a long history in regular fitness classes and long distance running. Fell in love with CrossFit watching the CrossFit Games and wanted to be awesome and learn new disciplines. I was hooked and humbled immediately.

 

I own an Insurance Agency in Puyallup by day and CrossFit either before or after the workday. I have recently started practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  I also love Hot Yoga, trail running, backpacking, skiing, and trying all the IPAs.

My CrossFit journey started in 2020 after years of weightlifting in a traditional gym. I came to a point in my life where I wanted to try something new and challenging, I was always intrigued by the variety and intensity that Crossfit offers. After my first class I was hooked and have thoroughly enjoyed the community at CF Deluge. 

 

Outside of the gym I love spending time with my fiancé. I’m a huge Volkswagen enthusiast as I love working on and driving all 3 of my cars. Recently I’ve been spending a lot more time in the kitchen refining my Chef skills! 

I started Crossfit in 2018 and had no clue what I was getting into. What I found was a fun and family-like atmosphere that taught me challenging ways to become healthier and stronger through functional movements. It’s been an amazing experience and is what motivated me to complete Crossfit Level 1 Training, in addition to supporting various kid’s classes at CF Deluge.

 

Depending on the day/time of the week I’m either working my 9-5, w/ my husband attending one of my son’s sporting events, or at the gym working out or assisting as a coach.

I became a member of CrossFit Deluge in 2020 and was instantly hooked on the workout style.  Even more so, the sense of family that you feel every time you step in the door.  

I am a labor and delivery nurse by trade. Health and wellness is a huge part of my job description , but also plays a key role in my personal life as well. 

I have always loved fitness and food! Working out over the years, I have found that fueling your body with the proper nutrition not only has amazing benefits for your health, but also really plays a key role in performance too. 

When the nutrition program  launched  in 2021, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Having had a nutrition coach of my own, I have seen first hand the benefit associated with that kind of accountability. I completed the Healthy Steps Nutrition Program this year and received my certification as a nutrition coach. I am looking forward to working with people and teaching them that food doesn’t have to be boring and that building small habits can create a world of change.
